SPRING 2010

We have just spent the weekend 26 to 29 March at the apartment, as our first guests of the year are due today, Tuesday 30th and we wanted to make sure all was ready for them. Our local agents look after the apartment very well but we weeded and replanted the two planters and made sure the irrigation was working ok.


The good news is the lemon tree, which nearly died last year during the heat of the summer, is alive and well and is in blossom. Hopefully, there should be some lemons for the guests to use during the year. We also got a new BBQ as the one we got last year wasn't up to the job.


It's been an unusually hard winter in Southern Spain but it was hot and sunny so the weather should be set for the rest of the year now.

"Dear Mary and Andy

Having had 30 plus holidays in Spain, staying in five star hotels or up-market villas and apartments, we can honestly say that yours was the best ever for quality and value for money. It was clean, spacious, secure and centrally positioned for exploring the area from Malaga to Gibralta. For sun worshipers such as us, it was ideally positioned as we got the rising sun on the balcony at the front until it also hit the expansive terrace at the rear about mid-morning. The large terrace was ideal for outside dining and sun bathing until 8.45 pm! Lots of good restaurants and quaint little towns to visit such as Benahavis about 15 minutes away. After living there for 3 weeks, it felt like home and we considered making you an offer for the place.

The main purpose of this trip to Spain was to buy a place of our own and we actually showed your apartment to the agents to set the standard (hope you didn't mind). We did manage to buy an apartment but if we hadn't, we would have come back time and again. However, we will be recommending it to any of our friends travelling to Spain who like us, expect very high standards.

Regards to Louise and Daphne, the "meet and greet" team who made sure everything went smoothly. We're going to use them to look after our place.

Recent Improvements!

We were at the apartment in early May and did some 'housekeeping' and 'gardening' while we were there.

The planters had become a a bit overgrown, so we did some dramatic culling, especially of the aloe vera in the front planter, and lots of self-seeded plants in the rear one. We also added a couple of pots, one for the lemon tree for those all important gin & tonics and one for the bougainvillea, which we've fan trained up the wall.

We've also added a barbecue and that's for the use of all who stay there.

The position is a great base from which to explore Puerto Banus, Marbella, Estepona and if you are really adventurous, Gibraltar. There are many restaurants, spas and of course lovely beaches close by; perfect for a romantic sunset stroll. We highly recommend Andy & Mary’s lovely apartment and will definitely be going back there."

"Thank you so much Andy and Mary for the opportunity to enjoy the November sunshine in this great location. We spent a long weekend in this lovely apartment, the only problem is that it was far too short and we intend to remedy this very soon.

The apartment is marvellous, very spacious, airy and extremely well appointed with a superb balcony. Both bedrooms are en suite, light and airy with very comfortable beds. Shops, restaurants and beach are close at hand and many lovely coastal towns to explore. Car hire, parking etc. was easy and convenient. Transfer from Malaga airport is one hour.

This would be a great position for a golfing holiday as there is a Championship golf course 5 minutes away. Day trips to Gibraltar, Seville and many lovely mountain towns and villages with glorious scenery are all possible.


The best apartment we have ever stayed in and we would heartily recommend it for a wonderful holiday."

"We arrived at the airport and car hire was easy, as were Andy's directions and so got to the apartment an hour and 30 Min's after landing. The apartment was very large with a fantastic terrace and great views. We had our 2 children with us aged 13 and 11 and we were not sure if it was the type of place for them. It was however perfect, they had their own room with twin beds and loved the fact that they had their own bathroom. We spent the whole of the next day playing by the pool, it was great to be able to nip upstairs when it got too hot at mid day.
In the evening we got sun on the terrace until 7 o clock which meant I could soak up more rays while everybody else got changed to go out. There were a number of very good restaurants nearby (10 Min's walk), but as the week went on we went further afield and it was still good quality and suitable for families. The beach was near again (10 to 15 min walk) but we found a quick drive to Estepona and you had a great beach and more shops etc if you did not want to stay and cook all day. We also did a day trip to Gibraltar and it's only just over an hour away and a great day out, with very cheap duty free. The apartment was certainly of a very high standard and we have already booked to go back in 2009. It is great for a family and there is lots to do around the area.
